The fastest route towards the collapse of any society is when incompetent people run that society.

In his first term, Trump was going through a learning curve. Now, he has learned well how to be a dictator. Now he wastes no time.

The USA under Trump is heading towards a far-right government starting January 2025.

He began to appoint hawks in his cabinet.

This pack of wolves will enact policies and executive orders hostile to immigrants and non-white ethnic groups — and particularly Muslims — and bring the clash of civilizations rhetoric to the fore.

Like Netanyahu, who is leading his pack of wolves towards the annihilation of Israel, Trump — along with his pack of wolves — is following the same roadmap.

Let me give a brief on some of the wolves entrusted by Trump to graze the herds of USA citizens for the next four years.

Marco Rubio — Secretary of State

The nominated Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, will lead an aggressive foreign policy toward Palestine, Iran, China, Venezuela, Cuba, and Ukraine. Motivated by evangelical preaching, he will only fuel Netanyahu’s genocidal army to cleanse the Holy Land of anti-Christ Muslims and preempt the second coming of the Messiah.

Meanwhile, Trump will draw his entrepreneur and business cards to “milk” as much money as possible from the rich Arab dictators, in exchange for protecting their power.

Matt Gaetz — Department of Justice

Let me move to the Department of Justice and introduce you to Matt Gaetz. What an irony — someone appointed to the highest law-enforcement office while boasting about illicit conduct with underaged girls.

Anyway, why should we blame Matt Gaetz when his boss Trump is not short of sexual abuse cases? Maybe Matt was purposefully appointed to whitewash the filth of his boss.

You might wonder how Evangelicals rally behind and tolerate such persons. Well, the Bible provides a convenient answer. Read John 8:7–11, when Jesus told the elders: “Let the one without sin cast the first stone” — and slowly everyone disappeared. And besides, didn’t Jesus sacrifice himself to atone the sins of Christians? If so, why not wreak havoc in the Middle East, and have Jesus bless and wash away all sins — if that is even considered sin in the first place.

A classical God and Gold rhetoric that justifies the exploitation of people and the plundering of other nations’ lands.

(Note: I published this article on 22 Nov 2024 and many of these nominations were still in flux. Under much criticism, Trump later replaced Gaetz with Pam Bondi — the Florida Prosecutor — far less controversial, but nevertheless a Trump loyalist.)

Pete Hegseth — Department of Defense

This is serious stuff. We are talking about the most powerful army in the world, equipped with the most lethal and advanced weaponry. The world has seen a flavor of its destructive power in Gaza. Nearly 1.3 million troops will be commanded by Pete Hegseth.

He is a typical white supremacist who loves to expose his crusade tattoos — and found opportunities to put those tattoos into action while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He openly supported his colleagues in the army who were accused of war crimes. Imagine appointing this person in charge of 1.3 million troops with tremendous destructive power.

That gives you some hints about the hatred Hegseth might have toward Muslims. And to top it all off, Hegseth was a Fox News anchor.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — Department of Health

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is heading the Health department with no formal education in health science. He is a vaccine skeptic and critic of the C.D.C., and has promoted theories suggesting that H.I.V. is not the true cause of AIDS.

Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy — Department of Government Efficiency

Musk and Ramaswamy will be in charge of a new department called Government Efficiency. It might seem an outlier given that Trump is anti-globalization and Musk is for globalization. But on second thought, Musk fits well as the persona of the right-leaning Silicon Valley ideology that is increasingly shaping a dystopian future where technology controls the population — and that is music to the fascist ambitions of Trump. The very name “Government Efficiency” smells of this evil intention.

A Quranic Lens

Now read verse 17:16 from the Quran:

Whenever We intend to destroy a society, We command its elite ˹to obey Allah˺ but they act rebelliously in it. So the decree ˹of punishment˺ is justified, and We destroy it utterly.

In the original Arabic text, the word “commanding” can be read in three ways:

• Amarna (the most authentic reading) — I commanded the elites to obey, but they did not, and instead spread corruption.
• Ammarna — We made these elites take control of the government, and then they enacted policies leading the nation toward collapse.
• Aamarna — We increased the number of the corrupt.

When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked about a sign of the Day of Judgment, he said: “When incompetent people are given high-ranking jobs.”

Why Did Americans Vote for Trump?

But let us ask: why did a good portion of Americans who voted for Biden last time switch to Trump — including many Muslims and Black voters? Why are people increasingly losing hope in the liberal democratic ethos?

In my view, the world is seeing the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. Trump is just one manifestation of this paradigm shift. The wind of change has been blowing elsewhere — in Europe, where each election brings right-wing parties closer to victory.

The world is fed up with left-leaning liberal policies that are too antagonistic to human nature. Liberal democracy under Biden tried to force its agenda so aggressively that it drove a great majority away — because its product is never appealing to the average human being. No parents want their teenager to wake up one morning and declare that she is now a boy, or vice versa.

As for Muslims, whatever respect Biden had in 2020 was shattered under the tunnels of Gaza. His courtship with Netanyahu and fueling of his genocidal project caused him to be abhorred not only by Muslims around the world, but by many Americans who exacted revenge at the ballot box.

For a Muslim voter — and many other sensible American voters — the options were: vote for Trump (one sin: supports Israel) or vote for Democrats (two sins: equally supports Israel, and forces anti-religious liberal values on society). Americans chose option one.

Not only Americans, but gradually the entire world is returning to a default state — the state prior to World War II. The United Nations tried to eliminate religions, culture, and local context, and tried to force mankind into a single global culture based on atheistic values of freedom, naturalism, and secularism. This has led to the dissatisfaction of communities who want to cherish their local culture, religion, and scriptures — especially Muslims, who have a rich civilization and God-made solutions covering all aspects of life, from family to finance to international relations.

So for Muslims, it is good news that anti-religious liberal values are receding.

The bad news is that the USA and the right-wing leaders of the West — along with Modi from the East — are beating the drum toward a medieval-style crusade against what they cast as the dark forces from the Middle East.

In the coming days, you will see Trump and his pack of wolves mining the Bible for hate-mongering quotes supporting a war between light and darkness — very similar to what Netanyahu has done since October 7th.

The failed assassination attempt on Trump elevated him to sainthood in the eyes of Christian Evangelicals, and Trump leveraged that brilliantly. Here is what he said afterwards:

“Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason, and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness.”

The Scene Is Set

The script is written and the action starts from January 2025. As Muslims we stand at a crucial moment — a great opportunity to rally behind the Quran and history. We come from a glorious history of struggle against the Crusades, a history that transcends the past and takes us all the way to the end of times when Imam Mahdi will lead the Muslims before the return of Jesus ﷺ to Earth.

Once the smoke of liberal atheist rhetoric vanishes from the scene, the traditional drama of history takes center stage, where soft as well as hard powers clash on the intellectual and military battlefield. Let us be prepared for that.

I end with verses 24–26 from chapter 34 (Saba):

Now, certainly one of our two groups is ˹rightly˺ guided; the other is clearly astray.

Say, “You will not be accountable for our misdeeds, nor will we be accountable for your deeds.”

Say, “Our Lord will gather us together, then He will judge between us with the truth. For He is the All-Knowing Judge.”
